    John Malone is a dynamic, resourceful and highly effective business leader and visionary, with a record of driving rapid, profitable organizational growth and delivering significant value creation for all stakeholders. Mr. Malone has achieved high levels of success in a wide range of organizations from a Fortune 100 company, to a mid-cap and the founding of a brand new startup. He has been a senior leader and significant contributor in five companies that have had successful exit events generating over $1B of shareholder value creation over the last thirteen years.

    Mr. Malone is currently an active board member of Amber Road Inc., a publicly held company (AMBR on NYSE) and a category leader in SaaS based Global Trade Management solutions. Amber’s platform delivers automation to import and export processes enabling the effective and efficient flow of goods across international borders. John joined the board in April 2014, shortly after its successful IPO and serves on its Compensation Committee and Audit Committee. John is also currently Chairman of a CEO Peer Group Advisory Board for Vistage International, the world’s foremost chief executive leadership organization, where he facilitates and coaches groups and individual leaders providing access to new ideas and fresh thinking to Chief Executive Officers.

    Prior to Amber Road, Mr. Malone provided company leadership to GroupLogic, a 20 year old venture backed software company providing digital content collaboration solutions in the enterprise and in the Cloud. He joined the Board of Directors in February 2009 and assumed the role of Executive Chairman in December 2009. Under his leadership he transitioned the business model which produced 2X bookings growth. John led the search for the new CEO culminating in a hire in March 2010 and Mr. Malone’s successful exit upon the company’s sale to Acronis in August 2012. John began providing strategic direction and executive support to Digital Sandbox, a venture backed software company in 2007 and became Executive Chairman in 2008. The company provides threat mitigation services to federal, state and local public safety and other high profile security related organizations. He guided the company’s business strategy to become a market leader in delivering data analytics solutions addressing Big Data issues. He facilitated the company’s successful sale to Haystax Technology in 2013 and exited one year after the sale.  

    Mr. Malone joined NeuStar in 2003, as Senior Vice President, Sales and Business Development where he was accountable for all revenue generation. Revenues grew from $80M to $420M under his leadership where he creatively developed new products and revenue streams while maintaining very high profit margins. The NeuStar IPO in 2005 was a #1 ranked offering by Renaissance Capital LLC and Thomson Financial’s International Financing Review and generated significant value creation for all stakeholders.

    In 2001, Mr. Malone founded BizTelOne, a telecommunications company which offered an OSS interconnect clearinghouse service for the carrier marketplace. It achieved initial revenue fifteen months after founding; he wrote the business plan, raised a Series A round of capital, hired key employees and delivered high quality services. He successfully sold the company to NeuStar in 2003 and delivered over 2X return to initial investors in just 11 months. John then joined the NeuStar Executive Management team.

    John started with USI in 1990 pre-revenue and held a number of sales and marketing leadership positions culminating in serving as President of the Commercial Systems Group. USI was an imaging, workflow automation and document solutions company providing services to the federal government and commercial markets. USI grew revenues from zero to over $150M per year during John’s tenure. USI changed its name to Integic and was acquired by Northrop Grumman. Mr. Malone began his career as a Systems Engineer with IBM and after two years moved to Sales where he exceeded his quota each year. He left IBM to follow his entrepreneurial instincts and passion by enrolling at Harvard Business School and earning an MBA. During his time at Harvard, he was exposed to the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and later became a member upon qualifying. He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech. John currently serves on two philanthropic Boards: Study Buddy which uses the internet to connect under privileged children with math honor society members for tutoring; and Gleaning for the World, an organization which provides life sustaining materials to missions both domestic and worldwide. Mr. Malone lives in Herndon, VA with his wife and four children.
