Founded in 2014, the Apex Center for Entrepreneurs at Virginia Tech is already a nationally and internationally recognized entrepreneurship program.

In 2022, Virginia Tech ranked No. 25 in the nation for entrepreneurship programs by The Princeton Review, as well as No. 4 in the South East region for entrepreneurship programs by Entrepreneur Magazine. These awards make Virginia Tech the only ranked program for entrepreneurship in Virginia.

Virginia Tech ranked No. 25 for undergraduate entrepreneurship programs by The Princeton Review for 2021, confirming what students at Virginia Tech already know: This is Home for Startups.

The Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) awarded the Apex Center its top award for exceptional contributions in entrepreneurship research in 2020.

In 2018, the Apex Center was named one of the best emerging entrepreneurship centers globally by GCEC (the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers).
