Our Entrepreneurs-In-Residence program brings accomplished entrepreneurs and innovators to campus to serve as mentors, coaches and advocates for student entrepreneurs at Virginia Tech.

About this program

No one knows the journey of entrepreneurship better than those who have walked the walk. Our Entrepreneurs-In-Residence have experience founding, growing, scaling and exiting new ventures and now are investing in the next generation of Hokie-entrepreneurs.

EIRs are immersed in robust student programming led by the Apex Center, as well as occasional engagement with partnered courses and programs, across the Virginia Tech entrepreneurship ecosystem. Our EIRs also act as ambassadors for Virginia Tech and the Apex Center, helping us to expand our base of contacts and reputation on campus and business community by engaging their own professional networks.

Our Entrepreneurs-In-Residence rotate on an academic year semesterly basis. To schedule time with an EIR, please visit our Mentors page on Startup Tree. Please refer to the sample agenda template so we can appropriately match you with a mentor basd on your noted needs.

Please note: Our EIRs time is limited, therefore your request for office hours may be picked up by another member of our team (Startup Hokies consultant, Affiliate Faculty member, Alumni Mentor). In all cases, we’ll help you get where you need to go!
